Bruno Mars proudly declares his Filipino roots

The October 20 appearance of international singer-songwriter Bruno Mars on Saturday Night Live (SNL) reportedly gave the NBC variety show the second-best ratings this season.

Serving as both host and musical guest in one number at SNL, Mars proudly declared that he is a Filipino while showcasing his singing and acting talents.
Mars, who is Peter Gene Hernandez in real life, was born in Hawaii to a Filipino mother and Puerto Rican father.
In 2011, he won the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Just The Way You Are.” Other hit songs credited to him are,” “Marry You” and “Nothin’ On You.”
He has already performed for Filipino audiences when he had his two-day concert in Manila and Cebu mid of last year.
